Children are the most vulnerable victims of disinformation and harmful messages. Digital media literacy skills have never been so necessary.
Canadian schools teach media literacy skills but not as a required part of the K - 12 curriculum. Other countries have made digital media literacy required learning. We need to do the same in our schools.
We can't control the sources of harmful messages.
We can make sure children learn the skills to resist them.
